What do we do first?
We will do an initial diagnostics inspection (this is not just reading fault codes and change parts based on this) depending on the problem with your car. This may include one, a few or all the below:
-Plug in a diagnostics computer.
-Running a full scan of the vehicle to check fault codes in all the control modules.
-Reading fault codes – this is to establish what the car thinks is wrong with itself.
-Reading live data depending on the above DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code). This is to check if the data is correct.
-Visual inspection to wiring, sensor, control module, fuses, etc
-Other fault finding problem solving
Once we have completed our initial diagnostics, the issue may be fixed or we will give you a quote for the cost of the repair. If it requires more in-depth diagnostic testing then we will provide a quote for this before proceeding. This involves fault finding problem solving i.e. using other testing equipment, testing components, checking wiring etc.
We pride ourselves on our friendly, polite and professional service to all out customers.

Diagnostic Trouble Code Reading
Modern cars are built with a wide range of sensors and computers to connect all areas of the car and give us information into why the car isn’t performing as it should be. All this information can be read via the cars onboard diagnostics port or OBD, this information can then be used to give a basic level of understanding into why the car isn’t performing and can then be used to advise repairs to bring the car back to the high level of performance that we expect from our modern vehicles. To obtain these codes from the vehicle requires special equipment and an understanding of what the codes mean, we here at MSK have this equipment and training to help you get to the bottom of your vehicles troubles and get you back on the road.
ECU File Diagnostics
Sometimes buying a new vehicle can come with worries about what previous owns had done to the vehicle, if you have concerns that your vehicle might of had a remap put on the vehicle and it’s not preforming as it should be or that due to a remap that things are being hidden from you, then we can investigate into weather or not the vehicle has been remapped and then we can either correct the remap, remove it completely or preform a software update on the vehicle to put it back to stock, returning the vehicle back to the same state it would of been when leaving the factory.
Advanced Diagnostics
With cars being so advanced in the modern world, often times its easy to be mislead by what the cars onboard computers system is telling you, because cars have so many sensors often they can point you in the wrong direction to what the real problem with the vehicle is, this is were advanced diagnostics techniques, equipment and knowledge is needed to untangle the information and find the root cause of the issue, this can be a time consuming process of reading live data from the vehicle and studying the vehicles wire diagrams or even removing parts to test if they are functioning properly. All this will lead one of our technicians to the cause of the vehicle fault. Get in touch today if you are experiencing issues with your vehicle and we can help get to the bottom of it and get you back on the road.
